Qingdao Expo Park reopens in March

The Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition Park, in Qingdao city, Shandong province, will reopen to tourists by the end of March after four-month renovation, according to the Chinese-language Qingdao Daily.

The Qingdao Expo Park has been transformed into a holiday resort, featuring ecological tourism and horticultural art. The organizers will hold flower exhibition, running activities, music festival and camping regularly.

With a total area of 241 hectares and more than 1,700 kinds of plants in it, the exhibition park was the venue for hundreds of performances and showcased many scientific and technological achievements in the field of horticulture around the world, which consequently earned it a high reputation both at home and abroad.

The expo was also awarded a string of prizes, such as the world design architecture gold medal at the 2014 China Qingdao International Ecocity and Green Roof Conference on Oct 20, 2014; and annual exhibition prize of the 2014 International Garden Tourism Awards on Oct 25, 2014. The expo park was named a national 4A scenic spot in Dec 2014 by the National Tourism Administration.
